Above Ground or
In the floor?
When it comes to protecting your family from tornadoes, heavy storms and home invasions, choosing the type of safe room can be frustrating.
Here are some of the many reasons we have chosen to sell and install above ground safe rooms over in-the-ground types:
  • Wheelchair/handicapped accessibility: No stairs-just walk right in!
  • Door opens to the inside: Open up easily if blocked-you won't be trapped inside
  • Easily accessibility: You don't have to open the garage door or move car to go to safety
  • Water heater or flooding: Most water heaters are located in garages-should a tornado strike, it could flood a floor shelter with scalding water; in some instances, flood waters accompany tornadoes and could flood the below ground shelter
  • Multi-use: Also used as a quick-to-access "panic room" that locks quickly from the inside with 3 inside locking bars
  • Valuables: Store guns and other valuables safely; perfect for frequent travelers

No time for keys!
Illuminated keypad deadbolt is now available for all shelters.
Popular standard sizes for Safe Rooms are 4 x 4, 4 x 6, 4 x 8, and the spacious 5 x 8.
4 x 8.  Custom sizes up to 30' are available.
All Providence tornado shelters come with standard 30" doors for easy entrance or 36" doors for  handicapped accessibility at an additional charge
